The site was visually restructured into a main header and navigation area with areas below for sub navigation, a Content area and a Promotional area. Both the Content and Promotional sections were arranged in a hierarchy so the most important or strategic information was placed within the visitors main screen area.
The content was also reorganised into a logical structure that enabled the visitor to construct a comprehensible ‘mind map’ of the site’s structure. This made all items much easier to access and so contact any affiliates of interest.
Some of the other updates included using the magpie of the brand identity a range of icons were created to visually represent the main feature areas of the site. This also increased the overall level of brand visibility, increasing the users’ familiarity.
A simple, single line tab navigation was also installed in place of the previous double level navigation. The newsletter signup area was greatly increased in size and moved to an area of greater prominence on the site.
